Widex Hearing Aids Available in Scotland
Widex is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hearing aids. Based in Denmark, they have more than 60 years experience and a reputation as one of the most innovative manufacturers in the industry.
UNIQUE is the newest Widex hearing platform and it aims to take precision and performance to a new level. UNIQUE claims to capture more sound than other hearing solutions and focuses on enhancing both power and audibility.
With 4 dedicated analogue-to-digital (A/D) converters, it delivers up to 113dB SPL linear input without distortions or sound artefacts. The hearing aids have a lower limit of 5dB to give users access to soft and low-level sounds. This means users can enjoy a full and dynamic soundscape across the entire frequency range.
Hearing aid users know how troublesome wind noise can be in outdoor situations. UNIQUE’s Wind Noise Attenuation feature has been described as the best wind reduction technology in the industry and has the ability to handle wind noise from all directions. The algorithms detect, separate and subtract noise, with documented improvement in a user’s ability to hear speech and environmental sounds.
The Sound Class feature provides users with an “intelligent listening” experience. It divides listening environments into distinct sound classes and automatically selects the best settings for your surroundings. For example, when algorithms detect prominent speech, it enhances audibility. In non-speech situations, the algorithms prioritise the user’s aural comfort. UNIQUE offers smooth transitions between controller settings, meaning that users aren’t disturbed when their environment changes and experience continued optimal audibility and comfort whatever the situation.
UNIQUE is available in several different styles and colour ranges, across four performance levels. These include PASSION, one of the world’s smallest RIC (receiver-in-canal) hearing aids, FASHION MINI, a discreet BTE (behind-the-ear) aid, and CIC MICRO, one of the smallest RITE (receiver-in-the-ear) aids on the market.
