What does your House of Hearing journey look like?

Your hearing test is completely free and will be carried out by an experienced Audiologist in our dedicated Morpeth clinic. Every consultation includes:

  • A discussion of your hearing history, lifestyle and health
  • A visual ear examination to check for any excessive earwax build-up, and to assess the overall physical health of the outer ear
  • A comprehensive Pure Tone Audiometry test, using both air conduction and bone conduction testing, to map your full hearing range across different pitches
  • An explanation of your audiogram – a simple visual of your unique hearing profile
  • Personalised recommendations and communication strategies to help you hear well with confidence

With House of Hearing there is never any pressure to proceed with hearing aids. Many clients leave with a better understanding of their hearing and valuable tips for daily listening.

Upon request, we can also provide referral letters or detailed reports for your GP or ENT specialist.

Understanding your hearing test results

After your hearing test, your Audiologist will talk you through your results using your audiogram. This is a simple visual chart that shows how well you hear different sounds, pitches and speech.

Your results will help identify any areas where your hearing may be reduced and explain how this could affect everyday situations, such as following conversations, hearing the television or understanding speech in busy environments.

Your Audiologist will explain everything clearly, answer any questions you may have, and recommend the most appropriate next steps to help you protect or improve your hearing.

If hearing technology could help, your Audiologist will recommend a solution that fits your hearing profile, lifestyle and preferences, then fine-tune your devices for comfort, clarity and confidence.

As an independent hearing provider, we offer a wide range of hearing technology, including world-leading brands such as Oticon, with styles ranging from virtually invisible in-ear devices to powerful rechargeable options with Bluetooth streaming.
