Stuart Lyness

RHAD, MSHAA

Audiologist

Stuart Lyness is one of the longest-serving members of the House of Hearing team, having joined in 2002. As a Senior Audiologist based in Edinburgh, he brings more than two decades of experience and a deep understanding of hearing care to every appointment.

Stuart’s background is rooted in both technology and healthcare. He graduated from the University of Paisley with an Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, before going on to complete a Postgraduate qualification in Information Technology at Edinburgh Napier University. This technical foundation underpins his approach to audiology, allowing him to combine precision, problem-solving and a clear understanding of modern hearing technology.

Over the course of his career, Stuart has worked with a wide range of hearing needs and listening environments. His experience allows him to tailor solutions that are not only clinically appropriate, but practical and comfortable for everyday life. He takes the time to understand each patient’s situation, ensuring that recommendations feel considered, personal and easy to live with.

For Stuart, the most rewarding part of his role is the difference hearing care can make. As he explains, “Being able to transform someone’s life by helping them hear better is incredibly rewarding. We’re a close team, and we always put our patients first.”

Stuart’s calm, knowledgeable approach and longstanding commitment to House of Hearing make him a trusted and reassuring presence for patients across Edinburgh.
