James Youren
RHAD
Audiologist
James brings more than 15 years of experience in audiology to House of Hearing, having worked with leading national hearing care providers before joining the team. Throughout his career, he has supported people with a wide range of hearing needs, from mild hearing loss through to more profound hearing difficulties.
James believes that excellent hearing care requires much more than technical expertise. He understands that everyone's experience of hearing loss is different and that changes to our hearing can have an emotional and psychological impact as well as a practical one. His approach therefore begins with listening, understanding each patient's individual circumstances and providing care tailored to their needs.
Combining extensive clinical experience with a warm and empathetic approach, James helps patients understand their hearing, explore the options available to them and get the most from their hearing technology.
“Every person's experience of hearing loss is unique. Providing the right support requires empathy and care, an understanding of the psychological and physiological effects of hearing loss, and the practical application of hearing technology. Being able to bring all of those things together to help someone is incredibly rewarding.”
Outside of the clinic, James particularly enjoys the sound of water, whether that's the gentle flow of a mountain stream or waves crashing against the shore.
