David Parsons

David Parsons is a Senior Audiologist based in Edinburgh, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise and clinical experience shaped by a lifelong interest in sound.

Before entering audiology, David spent a decade working as a professional audio technician across theatres and recording studios throughout Fife and the Central Belt. His career also took him overseas, where he spent two years as a theatre manager on board cruise ships. This early experience working with sound and acoustics naturally led him towards a career in hearing care.

David went on to study Hearing Aid Audiology at Queen Margaret University, where he was recognised as Student of the Year. He first joined House of Hearing in 2011, beginning his clinical career in an environment focused entirely on hearing and ear care.

Over the years, David has gained a wide breadth of experience across the sector, including running his own audiology business and working with national providers. In 2021, he was awarded Audiologist of the Year by a major hearing care provider , reflecting both his clinical expertise and his commitment to patient care. He has since returned to House of Hearing, bringing his experience full circle.

David’s approach is grounded in understanding how hearing affects everyday life. He takes the time to listen, offering clear guidance and personalised recommendations that feel natural and easy to adapt to. His background in sound gives him a particular appreciation for clarity, balance and the nuances of hearing in real-world environments.

As David explains, “ It’s a delight to work in an environment where the focus is entirely on hearing. I’m proud to be part of a team that combines expertise with a genuine commitment to patient care.”

David’s combination of technical insight, clinical experience and approachable manner helps patients feel confident in both their hearing and the support they receive.
