Pamela started working with the NHS in 1979 as an Auxiliary Nurse in a Nursing Home in Galashiels. For seven years she enjoyed her role, looking after and caring for the elderly. After a break, Pam returned to the NHS to work in a Psychiatric Hospital in a challenging role for 8 years. Pam then worked at the Borders General Hospital in 1993 to carry on as a Nursing Assistant in the Out Patient department.
At this point in her career, Pam moved into Audiology as a Technician, repairing hearing aids and carrying out adjustments. Four years into this job and Pam decided to study for her Diploma in Hearing Aid Audiology, graduating from Queen Margaret University in 2011. As a newly qualified Associate Audiologist, Pam’s role now included carrying out hearing tests, fitting hearing aids, doing repairs and taking impressions for new moulds. She has recently joined the House of Hearing Aural Care Team as a Nurse Assistant.
“I enjoy working at House of Hearing as the staff are so friendly and have welcomed me from my first day, also the Clinical rooms are so clean and bright.”
