Behind The Ear – these are the most common type of hearing aid. The hearing aid sits behind your ear and is connected to the earmould by a piece of tubing. The earmould sits inside your ear. Sounds are picked up by the microphone in the hearing aid. These are amplified and passed along the tubing into the earcanal. This type of hearing aid will be the best option for you if your hearing loss is severe. This is due to the greater power of these aids. A variety of sizes are available and our staff are on hand to give advice about which aids best suit your own level of hearing loss. Smaller, more discreet models of this aid are available and they are particularly helpful for high-frequency losses.

Completely In the Canal – these hearing aids fit right inside your ear, in its canal. Depending on the size of your ear, these hearing aids can be made so small as to be virtually invisible. This will be of benefit to you if you are looking for a discreet aid that will go unnoticed. Another benefit of this aid is that it has its microphone right inside the canal. This will be of interest to anyone with a keen interest in outdoor activities and sports such as golf, as this means that the level of wind noise is greatly reduced.

However, these aids are suitable for those with a mild or moderate hearing loss only. If your hearing loss is more severe, you may want to consider some of the other types of hearing aids available. Our staff are available to advise and give more information about each product.

In The Ear – these hearing aids come in a variety of sizes. All of the working parts of the aid are in the earmould, so the whole hearing aid sits inside your ear. This option may suit you if you are looking for a discreet aid that is less likely to be noticed. However, if your hearing loss is severe, this aid may not be the best option for you. Our staff are available to discuss other options with you and showcase the full range of hearing aids on offer.
