Musicians, and those intimately involved in the music industry such as engineers and producers, are becoming increasingly aware of the hearing damage caused by frequent practice and gigs, and conscious of the impact this has on their ability to play and perform effectively. For professionals, this has a direct consequence on the longevity of their careers, and as a result it's no surprise that they are seeking better and better hearing protection and monitoring.
At House of Hearing, we have been equipping musicians with state of the art hearing protection for many years, and the technology just keeps getting better.
Along with the ER-series of
musicians earplugs, developed by Etymotic Research in the USA, we now provide ACS PRO-series earplugs. Both of these models of earplug are equipped with a revolutionary and innovative flat attenuating filter for a very wide sound spectrum. Sound is attenuated at all frequencies by a set amount (between 9 and 27dB depending on the filter chosen), retaining the sonic timbre, and preventing the muffling of music which occurs with conventional non-filtered earplugs.
In addition , we offer a probe-mic-measurement verification of the earplugs in situ, so that you can be confident they are doing the job efficiently and effectively.

Custom
in-ear-monitors are also growing in popularity among musicians, due to the unprecedented clarity and comfort of the onstage sound they provide. No more competitive monitoring with wedges being driven louder and louder! Custom IEMs are available in a range of single, dual or triple-driver versions.
IEM sleeves are a cost-effective way of turning existing earphones or IEMs into a custom solution. Ear impressions are taken, and a silicone sleeve manufactured to fit the ear precisely, meaning an end to the discomfort that wearing less-than-perfectly-fitting earphones for long periods can bring, or the nuisance of an earphone falling out frequently. Whether this is for onstage use, or simply with your iPod, you are guaranteed a comfortable and secure fit. Sleeves can be made for most popular models of earphone/IEM - if you're not sure if your own earphones will work in this way, just ask!
Single-driver
modular IEMs are another option which fit neatly into the space occupied by the ER-series filters, transforming your earplugs into custom-fit IEMs in a matter of seconds.
