Technology moves quickly and at House of Hearing, our training and standard of customer care requires us to be up to date with what is on offer. Contemporary hearing aids now process sound digitally, improving its quality and clarity. The technology we introduce you to will always be the best fit option for your own level of hearing loss. As members of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Practitioners, you may be assured of our status as an independent retailer. This means that the advice we offer you will be both professional and impartial.

To make sure that we can satisfy your needs and tailor your choice of hearing aid to your individual hearing loss, we first need to carry out a hearing assessment. Our flexible approach means that this can take place in the comfort of your own home or in one of our consulting rooms, and there is no charge for this service.

Once you have discussed your results with one of our audiology staff and together, you have decided on the best product for you, we can offer you that product on a trial basis. Silicon ear impressions are taken and the instrument manufactured in around two weeks.

We then invite you back for a fitting session, at which time we will explain to you how to get the best from your hearing aid and look at practical issues like inserting and removing your aid, changing its batteries and keeping it clean. It is likely that you may have many questions to ask at this stage and so we always set aside plenty of time for these appointments – around 45 minutes.

Our relationship with you does not end once you have had your hearing aid fitted. We understand how important it is that you are happy with your aid and we routinely book follow up appointments two weeks after the fitting date. These follow up sessions give us the chance to discuss with you the positive improvements you are experiencing with your aid and to carry out any necessary fine tuning to maximise its potential. We are happy to arrange weekly follow up sessions wherever you feel the need for more adjustments.

Standard trial periods for most products are 30 days. However, we actively work to meet the needs of our clients and can negotiate longer periods as required. Once the trial period is completed and you are happy with the product, payment is due. Credit terms are available – this is interest free for the first twelve months.

If, for any reason, you trial an aid and decide not to buy it, we would support that decision and you would not incur any costs. While you would be free to walk away at this point, we would be happy to explore other options with you.
